People say that nothing in life is free. Well that may have been the case for the pioneers of internet marketing,
but the age of information has changed the way people view the internet today, beyond belief.
Many people go to the internet, with the intention of making money and that is their only intention. This may have
been okay when the Internet was in its infancy, but now the internet has matured and the fossils have been left
behind. The fossils, I mean the people that just want to sell, sell, sell. They have no interest in helping you make
money, they just want to take yours.
In todays world of internet marketing, eveolution has come full circle! The days of the snake oil salesman are gone.
The internet consumer is much more sophicated and knoweledgeable that ever before. Regardless of the product or
service you are marketing, much of the information supporting that product or service is not new, or proprietary.
In your effort to build a relationship with your customer base, that information should be delivered free! Yeah,
that means, no cost! When you deliver high quality, valuabe information consistantly, you will build the kind of
relationship that results in win-win, that is you and your customers get what they are looking for. Always remember:
Any combination other than win-win will not be successful over the long term.
I cannot emphasize strongly enough, the fact that you should give away free information, that contains great
content, before you try and start to make money. If you go on the internet and just try to sell an information
product (or anything for that matter), then you are going to be very disappointed in the results. Establishing
yourself in any business is the key to success, so make sure you can create quality free products and help people.
If you give away good advice and the know how of a good business, then people will want to learn more and they
will come back to you, because you have already told them what they need to know and have built up a friendly
relationship with them.
When people have to pay for information from you, and find later that that info is available for free somewhere
else, the recognition you you will get...well, you get the picture. There are some who place little value on free,
however, if you provide interesting, quality content, that addresses a particular issue and offers a viable solution
to that issue you will begin to earn respect and trust from your clients. When that is accomplished, you will be on
your way to a successful business.
There is no such thing as a free lunch, but with dedication and the right kind of help (that can be free), anyone
can make a successful business on the internet, so the importance of the freebie is undoubtedly more important
than the initial sale, especially if you are building a list on the back end.
